What Is A Facial?
A facial is a spa treatment focused on the skin on your face. Facials clean, refresh and rejuvenate your skin and, typically include, your neck and chest as well. Most people also find a facial to be a very relaxing experience. Viva Day Spa’s facials are specially tailored for your specific skin type, with treatment times that range from 30-90 minutes.
Most facials utilize the same basic steps. First, your esthetician will complete a thorough skin analysis to determine your specific skin care needs. Then they will select the appropriate cleansers, masks and serums to treat your individual skin type.
Most facial treatments at Viva include dual cleansers, steam, exfoliation, masks, extractions, hydration, sun protection and a relaxing arm, neck and shoulder massage. Afterward, your esthetician will recommend skin care products that are ideal for your skin type, so that you can continue caring for your skin well after your appointment.
How Often Should I Get A Facial?
How often you get a facial depends on many factors, including your skin type, skin concerns and desired results. The full life cycle of skin cell growth is three to four weeks.
Like most skincare professionals, Viva’s estheticians recommend monthly facial treatments to maximize your results, if it works for your schedule and budget. Many of our skin care guests come in to Viva Day Spa for facials every other month or every three months.
The key is to keep up with your skin care routine at home between visits with good skin care products, sunscreen, exfoliation and a great moisturizer. Otherwise your skin can be more susceptible to the effects of aging and can lead to pesky breakouts.
How Much Does A Facial Cost?
The price of a facial ranges from $100 to $220, depending upon the products, techniques and services included. At Viva Day Spa +Med Spa in Austin and Round Rock, a Custom Designer Facial costs for a 60 minute treatment. It includes an expert skin analysis, custom facial, extractions, and relaxing neck & shoulder massage. A Viva Vital Facial costs $220 for a 90 minute facial treatment that also includes a peel, custom mask, hydrating serums, and additional skin care elements.
What Is Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a glow-enhancing skin care treatment performed by an esthetician who uses a medical-grade scalpel to gently scrape across the surface of your skin. This remove sdead skin and vellus hairs on the face and lightly exfoliate the skin’s surface.
Viva Day Spa + Med Spa offers dermaplaning as part of our Express Dermaplane Facial or as an upgrade to other facial treatments. Please note that dermaplaning requires a medical clearance by Viva’s medical team prior to your service.
What Are The Benefits Of A Facial?
Facials can do wonders for your skin! A facial not only cleans, exfoliates, treats and moisturizes your skin, it helps address a myriad of skin concerns. Some benefits of facial treatments include the reduced appearance of fine lines & wrinkles, sun damage, age spots, and help with clearing up troubled skin caused by acne or just every day breakouts. Not to mention healthy glowing skin!
Most people understand that skincare is important, but struggle to properly care for the skin on their face, neck and chest at home. Facials also set you up for future success at home. You’ll leave your Viva Day Spa + Med Spa facial with a recommended treatment protocol for the at home skin care products and routines to keep your skin healthy and glowing.
What Is Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a skin care treatment that uses a special applicator with an abrasive surface to gently smooth away dead skin cells and renew overall skin tone and texture.
At Viva Day Spa + Med Spa, we’ve replaced our microdermabrasion technology with HydraFacial, a newer, more effective treatment solution. Often referred to as “wet microdermabrasion,” HydraFacial is a facial treatment that uses a patented vortex tip to deliver exfoliation, cleansing, extraction, and hydration to the face. This system uses a vortex swirling action to deliver hydration and to remove dead skin, dirt, debris, and impurities while cleaning and soothing your skin.
