Who Performs Botox Injections At Viva?
What Does A Botox Injection Feel Like?
Quick and minimally invasive, your mid-level medical injector (nurse practitioner or physician assistant) will inject Botox with a very small needle directly into the muscles that need to be relaxed. Any discomfort at the injection site should be very minimal. You might feel a slight residual stinging immediately after your Botox injections. A small bump may also appear where the injection occurs, but that will quickly fade.
After five minutes, your face will look nearly identical to how it looked when you walked into Viva, with the exception of some redness if you have sensitive skin. Typically, you can return back to work or normal activity immediately post-treatment. On a scale from 1-10, most guests rate it a 1-2.
How Long Does Botox Last?
Botox results typically last 3-4 months.
How Often Will I Need Botox Injections?
How often you need Botox treatments is slightly different for every individual. Our bodies metabolize the Botox Cosmetic neuromodulator at different rates. Muscle mass, age and your desired outcome also help determine the ideal treatment protocol.
For optimal results, you will need Botox injections at regular intervals every 3-4 months.
How Will I Feel After My Botox Treatment?
It is very common to feel slight heaviness or pressure in the treated area after Botox injections. Some people experience temporary side effects like a mild headache on the treatment day and the day after.
Slight redness and bruising may also occur at the injection sites. Most people experience no side effects at all and return back to work or their daily activities immediately post-treatment.
What Is A Unit of Botox?
A Botox unit is the amount of medicine that is injected into the specific treatment area. Botox dosage is measured in units and typically comes in 100 unit vials. For example, patients typically require 10-25 units for the vertical Glabellar lines, or “elevens” between the eyes.
What Age Should I Start Preventative Botox?
Neuromodulators, like Botox, are widely used as a preventative measure to keep wrinkles from forming. With time, aging will deepen the lines and wrinkles on your face. More and more, younger adults are choosing Botox treatments in their mid 20s and early 30s to prevent wrinkles and lines from taking hold
The minimum age for Botox treatments in Austin at Viva Day Spa + Med Spa is 18.
What Is The Difference Between Botox And Dysport?
Botox and Dysport are both neuromodulators with similar benefits and outcomes. Their formulas are different, which means one might be more effective for some treatment areas than the other — and visa versa.
Also, our bodies metabolize and respond differently. That’s why some guests who haven’t realized the results they desire with Botox report that Dysport works well for them. Viva’s experienced cosmetic injection specialists will help you decide with one is right for you.

What is a Lip Flip?
A lip flip is a non-surgical procedure that uses Botox to relax muscles in the upper lip which causes the lip to “flip” up and appear subtly larger. Lip flips are not offered as a standalone treatment at Viva.
This option is often less expensive than lip filler because it uses very few units of botox, however results will not be as dramatic with a lip flip as they will be with filler. This treatment is also only offered alongside additional Botox treatments like forehead lines, crow’s feet and glabellas or 11s. Request a complementary consultation to learn more!
Is Botox FDA-Approved?
Yes, Botox was approved by the FDA in 2002 to make moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines look better in adults.
How Popular Is Botox?
More people are choosing cosmetic injectables like Botox than ever before. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), there were 4.4 million Botox treatments performed in the US in 2020.
