Our skin is fighting the good fight against tough adversaries like the intense Texas sun, Father time, and good old genetics.  The good news? You can fight back with state-of-the-art Lumecca IPL photofacial treatments

Photofacial, or laser skin rejuvenation, is a state-of-the-art skin treatment that stimulates the production of collagen to improve the effects of sun damage, rosacea, fine lines, large pores, and more. A 30-minute treatment that requires little to no recovery time, Lumecca is safe and extremely effective at treating the face, neck, and chest areas.

How Does IPL Photofacial Work?

Lumecca IPL photofacial uses precise amounts of powerful intense pulsed light (IPL) to treat sun damaged skin, fine lines, brown spots, and small blood vessels. It can also be used to treat rosacea, helping reduce the redness and flushing caused by rosacea by up to 80%. Best of all, this quick 30-minute treatment requires no downtime, making it convenient for people with busy schedules.

Here’s how: the Lumecca hand piece emits intense pulses of light that penetrate the skin and are absorbed by damaged tissue. This stimulates the production of collagen and causes blood vessels beneath the epidermis to constrict. As a result,  you’ll experience a visible reduction in fine lines and wrinkles, smaller pore sizes, the fading of age spots and pigmentation, and smoother, softer skin.

What Issues Does It Improve?

Lumecca IPL photo rejuvenation is effective on all areas of the body. Areas of the body that are exposed to the sun on a regular basis — like the face, neck, décolletage, legs, hands, and arms — are the most commonly treated.  IPL photofacial improves the appearance of:

  • Sun damage (sun spots)
  • Age and brown spots
  • Freckles
  • Rosacea and redness
  • Melasma
  • Dark circles under the eye
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Broken blood vessels (capillaries)
  • Facial spider veins (telangiectasias)
  • Vascular lesions like poikiloderma
  • Persistent redness or flushing

  • Shallow acne scarring with large pores
  • Facial spider veins and broken capillaries
  • Rosacea

What IPL Photo Rejuvenation Technology Do You Use?

We use the Lummeca skin rejuvenation device by inMode Technologies. This FDA approved treatment utilizes photothemolysis to target the treatment area tissue with wavelengths of light that heat and destroy the problem area, without affecting or damaging surrounding tissue.  Also, Lumecca features a sapphire cooling tip which makes the treatment very comfortable.

When Will I See Results? How Long Will They Last?

Sun damage and skin complexion results are noticeable a few days after the first session. Your skin will continue to gradually improve, with a significant improvement in clarity and complexion after 1-2 weeks. Multiple Lumecca photofacial sessions will improve the final outcome.

Results are permanent. However, future sun exposure will make your skin susceptible to additional damage. If you take good care of your skin and protect it from the sun, the underlying issues are less likely to return.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

Your skin’s appearance will be visibly improved after the first IPL photofacial session. Your treatment plan will depend on the severity of skin damage and type of treatment (vascular vs. sun damage).

Results can be achieved in a single session. For optimal results we typically recommend 3 sessions scheduled 4-6 weeks apart. To maintain results, we also recommend a maintenance treatment every 6-12 months.

What Does It Feel Like? Does It Hurt?

To start your treatment, your certified photo rejuvenation specialist will apply numbing cream to your skin. Numbing takes about 15 minutes. You’ll put on special glasses to protect your eyes, and then a cool gel will be applied on the skin of the treatment area.

Next, the smooth glass surface of the Lumecca IPL hand piece is gently applied to your skin. There will be a bright flash of light when the light pulses are emitted. Typically guests say it does not hurt. You will feel a tingling or light elastic sensation, similar to a mild snap of a rubber band.  We will wrap up your session by wiping off the gel, cleaning the area with a warm cloth, and applying moisturizer and sunscreen.

How Much Does Photofacial Cost?

Enjoy additional savings and improved results when you schedule a series of 3 photofacial treatments.

Treatment Area:Per Treatment:Series of 3:
Face$250$625
Face, Neck & Chest$350$900
Hands$125$325

What Should I Expect Post Treatment?

Typically, the skin will be red and feel slightly warm after treatment. This usually subsides within an hour.  Avoid direct, excessive sun exposure or tanning immediately after treatment.

Freckles and age spots generally look darker for 3-7 days while the pigment comes to the surface. Crusting can also occur. These pigmented lesions will flake off over a period of up to 10 days following your Lumecca IPL session.  This will leave your skin clearer and more even-toned.
