Dysport Injections

Hey there, bright eyes! Ready to smooth out those moderate to severe facial lines and wrinkles? Relax them with Dysport injections at Viva. Fast and minimally invasive, they deliver natural, noticeable results within a few days.

What Is Dysport?

Along with Botox, Dysport is one of the most widely administered prescription cosmetic injectables for softening moderate to severe facial wrinkles and lines without changing the look or movement of the rest of your face. The muscles are simply relaxed, delivering natural-looking results.

How Does Dysport Work?

As we age, repeated movements and muscle contractions cause wrinkles. Dysport treats the moderate to severe frown lines on your forehead, around the eyes, and between the eyebrows by reducing specific muscle activity. Once the muscles are at rest, the skin becomes smoother — creating a more natural relaxed appearance.

Dysport is FDA approved and has been used for over 25 years. It is safe and very effective.

What Issues Does Dysport Correct?

Dysport relaxes wrinkles and facial lines between your eyebrows, forehead, eye area, and smile lines. It also addresses:

  • Furrowed brows
  • Forehead lines
  • Crow’s feet (wrinkles at corner of the eyes)
  • Bunny lines (wrinkles beside the nose)
  • Smile lines or laugh lines
  • Frown lines
  • Vertical lip lines
  • Eyebrow reshaping
  • Facial symmetry
  • Prevention of wrinkles from deepening over time

What Does A Dysport Treatment Feel Like?

Your advanced injection specialist will administer Dysport with an ultra fine needle directly into the area being treated. You will likely feel a very slight stinging sensation during the treatment, but no discomfort afterwards.

On a scale from 1-10, most guests rate it a 1-2. There is minimal downtime, which means you can get back to your day faster.

When Will I See Results?

You will see a noticeable improvement within 7-14 days of treatment, with results lasting 3-4 months.

How Often Will I Need Dysport Treatments?

Because we metabolize the product at a different rate, the outcome is somewhat different for each person. Optimal results are typically achieved when treatments are received at regular intervals — around 3-4 times per year. Your certified injection specialist will help you create a custom treatment plan to meet your desired outcome.

With ongoing treatment, many guests find they can decrease the maintenance to between 2-3 visits per year. Muscle mass, age, and desired outcome will also inform your treatment protocol.

How Much Do Dysport Treatments Cost?

It depends on the size of your facial muscles, the number of areas you are treating, the number of product units required, and your desired outcome. Men usually require more product and treatments than women because they have larger facial muscles. Typical Dysport treatments range from $250-$450.

Nationally, the average cost of Dysport injections in 2018 is $397 according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

What Should I Expect Post-Treatment?

It is common to feel slight heaviness or pressure in the treated area after Dysport injections. Some people experience a mild headache on the treatment day and the day after. Slight redness and bruising may also occur at the injection site.

Most people experience no side effects at all, returning back to work or their daily activities immediately post-treatment.

What Is The Minimum Age For Dysport?

Neuromodulators are also widely used as a preventative measure to keep wrinkles from forming. At Viva, you must be 18 years or older for Dysport treatments.

Natural Looking Results

You should never worry about looking fake or overdone at Viva.  We approach all of our med spa treatments — including Dysport injections — with the goal of addressing your concerns with an improved, natural looking result. We like to say that everyone will notice but no one will know.

Dysport vs Botox

Botox and Dysport are both neuromodulators with similar benefits and outcomes. The difference is in their formulas. Because our bodies are all different, one treatment may give you better results than the other. Some people who haven’t responded to Botox report that Dysport gives them better results.

Also, Dysport tends to work just a little bit faster than Botox — Dysport devotees sometimes report results in as little as 24 hours, compared to 72 hours for Botox. Your experienced cosmetic injection specialist  at Viva will help you decide which one is best for you.
