Turn back the clock with Sculptra in Austin at Viva Day Spa + Med Spa. FDA approved Sculptra filler treatments are safe, simple cosmetic injections that minimize the signs of aging by smoothing wrinkles and fine lines, while also restoring volume and fullness to the skin.

Sculptra Aesthetic is most commonly used on the face to restore volume and fullness to nasolabial folds (smile lines), marionette lines, and wrinkles around the nose and mouth, as well as chin wrinkles. It also used on other body areas for cellulite smoothing, wrinkles on the elbows and knees, and as a nonsurgical butt lifts.

Unlike an HA filler, Sculptra utilizes PLLA to stimulate your body to produce new collagen over time. The result? Soft, natural looking results that last up to two years.

What Is Sculptra Filler?

Sculptra is a non-surgical cosmetic treatment that reduces wrinkles and facial lines while creating a fuller, more youthful appearance to your face. This FDA-approved facial and body injectable, also known as the “liquid facelift,” works deep within the dermis. It fills in lines and wrinkles, and stimulates your body to produce new collagen and underlying tissue, which gradually restores the fullness and smooth texture to areas of the face most affected by aging.

Sculptra for the Body

Sculptra is also used for body rejuvenation. It can be used to enhance the appearance of the buttocks while adding more volume and shape (nonsurgical butt lift), and decreasing the appearance of cellulite and dimpling overall.

Natural Collagen Booster

Because Sculptra is a collagen stimulator, it doesn’t provide the filling action. Instead, it causes a reaction in the skin which forms new collagen, resulting in natural-looking results. The Sculptra itself is absorbed by the tissue and is gone about two years after a treatment, but the new collagen layer that is left behind may last two or more years. As a non-invasive procedure, Sculptra is perfect for those who want to give their faces a fresh look without the stitches or risks associated with cosmetic surgery.

What Areas Does Sculptra Treat?

Sculptra is a dermal treatment, which means it is designed to primarily correct age-related appearance concerns. Areas on the mid-face that contribute the most to the visible signs of aging, including hollowing, depressions, fine lines, and jowling, will benefit from the injectable solution.

How Does Sculptra Filler Work?

Sculptra is composed of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a synthetic material that has been used for decades in dissolvable stitches, and soft tissue implants. Because it’s a biodegradable molecule, it is easily broken down and absorbed within the body. PLLA acts as a collagen stimulator, helping to gradually restore fullness to facial wrinkles and folds. This results in a softer and more youthful appearance.

Rebuild Collagen Structure Naturally

This is a dermal filler treatment, which means the treatment itself will require the use of a small, thin needle to inject the special treatment solution directly into the sub-dermal areas of the skin. Once injected into your skin, the microspheres are slowly absorbed and metabolized by the body, which results in increased collagen and elastin production deep within your skin to restore a youthful visage.

Patients who have sensitive skin or who are anxious about needles may choose to use a topical numbing cream prior to the procedure to ensure comfort for the duration of the treatment. Your treatment appointments will take about 30 minutes to complete, just like any other dermal filler.

When Will I See Sculptra Results?

After your Sculptra treatment, you’ll notice your skin’s elasticity gradually improving as it reaches a more youthful texture. You may see some improvements within the first week of treatment; however, optimal, long-lasting effects will not develop until an average of three sessions spaced four to six weeks apart.

The improvement will continue for four to six months, at which point your results should reach their peak. Because the results occur throughout a gradual timeframe, you won’t experience a sudden, unnatural appearance that may be associated with surgical treatments.

How Much Is Sculptra?

Sculptra costs $850 per vial in Austin at Viva Day Spa + Med Spa. Purchase three vials, get one free for a limited time. Your medical cosmetic injector will recommend a specific number of vials and treatment sessions, based on your age and overall aesthetic goals. Nationally, the average cost of a Sculptra treatment is $1,039 according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

Sculptra Financing

If you’d like to offset your costs up front, Sculptra financing is available through Care Credit.

How Many Sculptra Sessions Will I Need?

For ideal results, you will need three Sculptra sessions spaced four to six weeks apart. For long-term results, Sculptra really beats out the competition of other HA fillers on the market. Most fillers require maintenance injections every 6 to 9 months. However, the majority of patients see their Sculptra results last anywhere from one to two years.

Generally, one maintenance treatment per year is needed — usually with a smaller amount of product — to preserve seamless results.

How Does A Sculptra Injection Feel? Does It Hurt?

Sculptra injections are quick and very tolerable. The injections cause only very mild and temporary discomfort — they feel similar to a light pinching sensation.

However, all Sculptra fillers contain Lidocaine to ensure minimal discomfort during your treatment. Filler treatments last just minutes and require little to no downtime.

How Long Does Sculptra Last?

Sculptra results can last more than two years, according to the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery.

What Will I Look Like Post Treatment?

Most patients can return to their normal activities immediately after Sculptra injections. However, some patients may experience slight swelling or minor bruising that will subside within a few days.

In this case, applying a cold ice pack to the injection site for a few minutes at a time within the first 24 hours will help speed along the recovery.

Sculptra FAQs

Is Sculptra A Filler?

Yes, Sculptra is an injectable cosmetic filler. Sculptra contains a bicompatible, synthetic material called poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) which is naturally absorbed by the body and helps gradually rebuild lost collagen.

Is Sculptra Safe?

Yes, Sculptra was approved by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) in 2004.

Is Sculptra Permanent?

Sculptra results are long-lasting, but not permanent. Collagen loss is an unfortunate part of the aging process, and your body will continue to lose collagen over time.

Depending on the number of treatments, patients can typically expect their Sculptra results to last for up to two years. An annual maintenance treatment will help prolong the youthful results further.

What Is A Sculptra Butt Lift?

A Sculptra butt lift is a cosmetic treatment that enhances the curve and shape of your buttocks. Sculptra dermal filler is injected into your buttocks to stimulate natural collagen growth in the skin. This new collagen structure adds fullness and volume with beautiful, natural looking results. Best of all, there is zero downtime.

Does Sculptra Help With Cellulite?

Yes, Sculptra is very effective at smoothing out cellulite on the hips, thighs and buttocks. When injected, Sculptra stimulates the production of fresh, new collagen to replenish lost volume.  The new collagen generated by your body fills up the dimpled areas and smooths out the skin to achieve the similar volume of the surrounding skin tissue.
