Whether you’re familiar with The Domain Northside or not, here’s what you need to know: you could spend an entire day there and still not see everything! The Domain is home to shops upon shops, delicious restaurants, workout studios, spas and even hotels. We’re serious when we say you could spend all day there and not see everything! But, don’t let that stress you out. We’re here to tell you how to spend a relaxing spa day at the Domain. 

How to Start Your Spa Day at The Domain

Let’s cut straight to the chase. If you plan on going on the weekend, parking is a madhouse. But if you arrive early, you should have no problem with parking in any of the garages, which makes for an even more relaxing start to your day. To start, we recommend grabbing a coffee at Houndstooth Coffee, a locally owned coffee shop with our favorite iced lattes! 

After your caffeine fix, there are countless options to choose from for breakfast. Here are a couple of our favorites:

True Food Kitchen: if getting a healthy beginning to your day is how you fuel, then this spot is for you. Here you’ll find plenty of smoothies, juices, power bowls and more. 

Sweet Paris Creperie & Cafe: maybe you have a sweet tooth that you must satisfy in the morning or you just like options between sweet and savory. If so, you will love Sweet Paris. Their crepes always hit the spot!

Relax at the Domain 

Now that you’re fueled and ready to go, it’s time to rest and recharge. What better way to kick off a restful day than by treating yourself to some time at the spa? Our Viva Day Spa flagship location is located right across from the Nike Store. We recommend parking in the X LOT for easiest access. 

We offer a range of services, from Med Spa treatments such as Botox and laser hair removal to massages and hydrafacials. For a relaxing spa day, here are some of our most popular services that what we’d recommend:

Viva Signature Massage: Our most popular massage, this 75-minute massage blends the techniques of Deep Tissue massage with the luxurious strokes of Swedish Massage.  

Viva Custom Designer Facial: Who doesn’t want a facial catered just to their specific skin needs?! This facial is everything you could ever ask for, starting from the expert skin analysis down to the warm neck pillow. This 60-minute massage includes dual cleansers, steam, exfoliation, masks, extractions, hydration, sun protection and a relaxing arm, neck and shoulder massage.

Viva Vital Ultimate Facial Package: This 90-minute facial gives you the nitty-gritty to tackle all of your skin care needs. You’ll experience a combination of everything in our spa arsenal to tackle your specific skin care needs!

Celebration Spa Package: Because why not a little treat-yourself action?! Spoil yourself rotten with this package, which gives you a combination of a massage, the custom designer facial, deluxe pedicure plus wine and chocolates. We’ll say no more!

How to Spend Your Afternoon at the Domain

Now that you’re calm, cool and collected, you’re ready to take on the world! Or just the Domain. We recommend a leisurely afternoon to keep the restorative vibes flowing. Here’s how we suggest you spend the rest of your spa day at the Domain:

• Grab a bite to eat at Flower Child, a spot all about happy and healthy vibes. We are big fans of the Mother Earth bowl, but truly, you cannot go wrong at this spot. 
• Leisurely stroll into shops and don’t miss out on local Austin favorites while you’re there! There are plenty of amazing places to see, but we love Limbo Jewelry for modern, geometrical jewelry, Nina Berenato for making permanent bracelets and Desk Plants for hard-to-kill indoor plants – something we could all use more of! 
• Need a little pick-me-up? We know just the spot! Swing by Bakery Lorraine for their divine macaroons.
• If doing something interactive is up your alley, be sure to see what events are currently installed because they always make for great photo opps, too!  

Winding Down

As your day begins to wind down, your options are still endless. We hope you came hungry because there are too many good spots we love here! A few can’t-miss places are:

• Happy hour at JOI Asian Bistro, an elegant yet very approachable Southeastern Asian restaurant with amazing cocktails. If you’re at the Domain on a weeknight, don’t miss their happy hour from 3:00 – 6:00pm.
• Make reservations for dinner at Second Bar + Kitchen or if you’re an “in the moment” kind of person, we highly recommend Velvet Taco. Neither place will disappoint!
• Could you really end this day without treating yourself to some dessert? We didn’t think so. Swing by Jeni’s Spendid Ice Creams on the way out for some of the most unique ice cream flavors you’ll ever encounter – maple soaked pancakes, brambleberry crisp, wildberry lavender and more.

If you’re from out of town or looking to extend your stay, there are plenty of hotel options nearby. We love crashing at the Archer Hotel when we’re looking to stay within walking distance to the Domain!
