Our talented medical spa team includes licensed medical aestheticians, licensed laser technicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and our supervising physicians and medical directors, Dr. Aisha White in Austin and Dr. Joseph Kelling in Dallas.

All cosmetic injectables at Viva, including  Botox, Dysport, Kybella, and Juvederm or Restylane filler, are exclusively performed by our physician assistants (PA), nurse practitioners (NP), or in Austin by our supervising doctor.  Nurse practitioners and Physician Assistants are advanced medical clinicians with masters-level practice degrees.

Viva Day Spa + Med Spa’s medical director is Aisha White, MD. A native of New Orleans, Dr. White is one of just six female board-certified plastic surgeons in Austin. In addition to leading the all female medical team at Viva Med Spa, Dr. White specializes in cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery at her private practice, Quintessence Plastic Surgery in Austin, Texas.

Dr. White studied biology at Howard University. She earned her medical degree at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University, while simultaneously completing a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) at The Wharton School of Business at The University of Pennsylvania.

She completed her internship and residency in General Surgery at the SUNY  Health Center (Brooklyn, New York). She returned to Chicago to complete her residency in Plastic Surgery at The University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. White specializes in breast and body surgery, along with cosmetic minimally-invasive and surgical aesthetic procedures.

Appointments are available with Dr. White for cosmetic injectable services including Botox and filler at Viva Domain Northside. She exclusively performs the more advanced injectable services — like tear trough filler and Botox for bruxism — at our medical spa.

What is a Medical Spa?

According to the American Med Spa Association, a medical spa — also referred to as a med spa, medspa, or medi spa — is a “hybrid between an aesthetic medical center and a day spa” with four core elements:

  • the provision of non-invasive (i.e. non-surgical) aesthetic medical services;
  • under the general supervision of a licensed physician;
  • performed by trained, experienced and qualified practitioners;
  • with onsite supervision by a licensed healthcare professional

Will I Need a Medical Consultation before My Med Spa Treatment?

Yes. Before you can receive most medical or med spa procedures, Texas law requires that you first be seen for a medical consultation at Viva Day Spa + Med Spa. Our medical consults take 15-30 minutes and are complimentary.

Our mid-level practitioner (NP or PA) will complete a medical evaluation by reviewing your medical history, current medications, etc. This will ensure that you do not have any contraindications prior to treatment and that you are a good candidate for the medspa services you are seeking. She will then complete a custom treatment plan for you before medically clearing you to proceed with your med spa services. Your health and safety are our top priority.

Medi Spa Treatments That Require A Medical Consultation

Body Contouring & Laser Hair Removal Consultations

A pre-treatment medical consultation is not required prior to body contouring or laser hair removal treatments. However, we schedule a 15 minute consultation prior to your first treatment with your laser or body contouring specialist to make that you are a good candidate. Efficacy is always our priority.

Do You Offer Financing for Med Spa Services?

Yes, we accept the healthcare credit card CareCredit for select medspa services. With CareCredit, you can pay for med spa treatments in Austin at Viva Day Spa + Med Spa with flexible finance options.

Do You Accept Insurance?

No, Viva Day Spa + Med Spa does not accept insurance, Medicaid or Medicare for our medical spa services.

Which Cosmetic Injectables Do You Offer?

Neuromodulators

Viva Day Spa + Med Spa provides Botox and Dysport injections. Neuromodulators are wrinkle-relaxing injections of botolinum toxin that are used to treat wrinkles, frown lines and crow’s feet.

Dermal Fillers

Viva Day Spa + Med Spa uses the Juvederm and Restylane family of products for dermal filler treatments. Sculptra Aesthetic, Radiesse and Belotero fillers are also available.

Kybella

Kybella double chin treatment is a nonsurgical injection used to reduce excess fat beneath the chin.

 

Is Your Med Spa Open on the Weekend?

Yes, Viva Day Spa + Med Spa is open on Saturday and Sunday. Unlike doctor’s offices which are only open during the week, Viva offers spa and med spa treatments daily from 9am-9pm.

How Often am I Required to be Medically Cleared?

You will need a medical consultation, treatment plan, and clearance once per year. Once our doctor or nurse practitioner/physician assistant makes an appropriate diagnosis and recommends a treatment plan, you can receive those recommended treatment(s) for the following year.

To ensure safe, effective results, please postpone your skincare appointment if you are experiencing any active infections such as cold sores, pink eye, styes, or shingles, or if you have visible symptoms of HPV on the face. Our estheticians can only provide treatment once all symptoms have fully resolved.

For guests receiving chemical peels, please discontinue use of Retin A, Accutane, Tazorac, Differin, or any other medication that may compromise the skin at least 7 days prior to treatment.
