It’s telling that Shannon Mouser, one of Viva’s co-owners, signs all of her emails with a quote from the Dalai Lama: “If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion.”
When Viva opened its doors on 35th Street back in June of 2005, we believed in a culture of caring. With eight employees, we were committed to providing our clients with a relaxing and rejuvenating spa experience in an unpretentious setting.
Eight years, 2 locations, and 75 employees later, Viva’s commitment to caring for its customers and employees has grown and flourished. We are ever so grateful to have had — and continuing to have — the opportunity to do so.
While any spa can fill its walls with massage tables and foot baths, with saunas and steam treatments, we know that it’s our exceptionally talented employees who make our customers’ spa appointments into spa experiences. We’re thankful to them for spreading the word and for helping us be recognized as one of Austin’s Best Places to Work.
And, our clients have let us know we’re doing something right as well, posting to Yelp that it should be against the law to drive after a Viva massage and voting us Austin’s Best Day Spa for two years in a row. We’re humbled to serve such a fantastic bunch of Austinites, over 100,000 of you. Without you, we’d be looking for people to pamper. We’re glad you’ve chosen us.
So, while eight years have passed and we hope many more will come, Viva’s commitment to caring continues. It’s what we do.
