It's Viva Day Spa's Five Year Anniversary!

Viva At Five Years
The seed of the idea for Viva was planted among three friends who hoped to create a warm, inviting and healing place for clients in Austin. Viva Day Spa opened it's doors on 35th Street on June 15, 2005 with eight employees, and the belief that a culture of caring starts with an exceptionally talented staff who, in turn, cater to the individual needs of clients.

Five years later - and one spa location bigger - Viva employs 52 exceptional people, and has delivered well over 150,000 services to new and loyal clients alike.

As a locally and women owned business, we're thrilled (and very grateful) to have come so far in such a short time. I went to Viva Day Spa for the second time (well 4th really - but second massage) today and holy moly was it bliss. The first time I went was about 8-9 months back. I had purchased a Christmas spa package for my sister, and she was so excited she got one for me too so we went together! Aw, sister date! That was an absolutely amazing day so I HIGHLY recommend dropping some monies on a spa package. It was something like a 60 min. swedish massage, body butter wrap, scalp massage, hot towel treatment, sauna time, chai tea. Totally fabulous.

But THEN, then I went again today. I walked in yesterday (Sat.) to see if maybe, just maybe they had an appointment this weekend and they DID! It was at 9:45 am, but I said, hey, sounds like an excellent way to start a Sunday. I added some sauna time in, came in at 9:15am and was introduced to Grit. What a fuckin' sweetheart! She was so nice and so comforting and has an adorable accent and haircut and I LOVED HER! I will never get a massage from anyone else. She has magic hands. She was also very adamant about me telling her if the pressure was right, if I needed more or less, if I was too hot or cold, etc. Perfect.

Go to Viva. Ask for Grit. Get the best massage ever.

Oh, and could the music selection be any greater here? No. It couldn't.

Gentleman, we may have gotten it wrong. Seriously.

Like any guy, I have always loved the good things in life: football, Lone Star beer , muscle cars and every Steven Seagal film; until yesterday afternoon. However, my new list reads something like this: Mazzy Star, mood lighting and a 90 minute massage from Viva Day Spa.  

This was my first encounter with a day spa, a massage purchased for me ahead of time as a birthday present. I showed up as scheduled, there was already another guys "guy" in the waiting area. He looked at me and gave me the nod like, "hey, after this massage im going home to work on my F150 and watch the UT game",  I hear ya bro.

Upon being led into the massage room, my therapist made me feel at home and really relaxed. She did a great job of deflating my anxiety  (i still left my running shorts on though).  

For the next 90 minutes I got the best massage (and first) of my life. Freaking awesome! I think the massage therapist must have really strong hands and stamina to keep that up without stopping.  I agree with Susan Ks review, Jenny at Viva Day Spa is *the* best.  She is really professional and you can tell she has mastered the art of massage.

Treat yourself ,my brothers, to a massage at Viva.  
Then when you are finished say "I am man, hear me roar."Gentleman, we may have gotten it wrong. Seriously.

Me and my husband did the delicious duet for our anniversery. It was probably the best thing we have ever did together. We have three children and never have time for us so I can't express to you how much this helped us reconnect. It was truly a special moment, a relaxing moment and so worth every penny. From the time we walked in we were pampered with wine and chocolates. And when we left they even gave us a gift bag with goodies. I recommend this for any couple trying to release stress and reconnect. Or you just need some peace of mine time.

Pros: Everything was Great!
Cons: I wish it could of lasted forever

My visit to the new location of the Viva Spa on my vacation in Austin was incredible. It was much more than I had anticipated as I have been to several spas and there is no comparison. I had the "Mother Nurture" package. The entire massage was so relaxing with candlelight, soft soothing music, fragrant aromas, just a beautiful setting. My therapist was sure to inquire if I was comfortable and whether the massage was gentle or intense as needed. She was completely in tune to my needs. The attention given made me feel that I was the only person there. It was an unparallel experience, leaving me relaxed and refreshed with a renewed sparkle to commitment to be more in tune with my body and mind. I was in such a relaxed state of consciousness that at one point I thought I saw a red floating gerbera daisy on the ceiling. "What a day, what a day" as was said in one of Dr. Seus's children's books. Thank you! Highly recommended!

I've been to both of their locations and they are both wonderful. I highly recommend this day spa for relaxing and corrective body work. The atmosphere there is so serene and the people are so genuine and nice. I got a massage from Julianne and she was great! I had massages from other staff members there and they were all exceptionally good. I really appreciate both these spots as an oasis in the midst of my chaotic and hectic days - easy to get in and out , and they will always try their best to fit you in even at the last minute! I'm hooked on this spot!

I just experienced Viva for the first time. The massage was excellent and the attention to detail was unexpected. I loved the chocolate and the cucumber water. I bought a beautiful necklace from a local designer that I am in love with. The person that booked me was very nice too.

These people really have service down. They know how to treat people so that they feel cared for. I have been here several times and I am always struck by how nice they are. They really seem to focus on friendliness and caring. The services themselves are great too.

I have lived in Austin all my life and have been to pretty much every spa in town several times. Every time I go to Viva I get superb treatments and really connect with the staff. It is the only spa that is CONSISTENTLY superb. The staff, the quality of the services, receiving the full treatment every time and the small touches really add to the experience. They just upgraded their service menu and have some really unique spa packages. I loved the Indulgence Package - two therapists for two hours, wow!!! I highly recommend trying Viva.

I have been an avid Viva goer since they opened 2 years ago. I go every 3 weeks for my brazillians and have always loved them. I am getting married and decided to book my bridal shower with them and now I know how GREAT all of their services are. Me and my 5 bridesmaids went to chill out and received a full spectrum of services and EVERYONE said it was the best they have received. We had everything from pedicures to facials to massage packages. The staff really cares and each person really is great at what they do. Thanks Viva for making my bridal shower truly outstanding! My boyfriend and I went to Viva for the Delicious Duet Spa Package and I was really impressed! The people there were so kind and really seemed to care about us. The massage therapists were so good and the place is so nice! I highly recommend Viva!

This is an Excellent Spa! I received a Facial from Barbara she took her time gave me an analysis of my skin, made me feel comfortable and was very knowledgeable in maintaining good skin conditions.
